{"id":1165,"date":"2016-10-03T12:08:05","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T12:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.grancanariafilm.com\/?page_id=1165"},"modified":"2024-10-22T08:20:46","modified_gmt":"2024-10-22T08:20:46","slug":"40-38-de-deduccion-por-inversion-en-producciones-o-coproducciones-espanolas","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.grancanariafilm.com\/en\/rodar-en-gran-canaria\/ventajas-fiscales\/40-38-de-deduccion-por-inversion-en-producciones-o-coproducciones-espanolas\/","title":{"rendered":"UP TO 54%* &#8211; 45% TAX CREDIT FOR INVESTMENT IN SPANISH PRODUCTIONS OR CO-PRODUCTIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the case of national productions shot in the Canary Islands which obtain the Canaries Film Certificate, the deduction percentage is up to 54%* on the first million Euros and 45% from then on.<\/p>\n<p>This incentive is capped at <strong>\u20ac36 million euros <b>per feature film<\/b> and 18 million euros per episode in the case of series.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h6><em><span class=\"OYPEnA font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">* 54% for the first 1M\u20ac under certain requirements, depending on the type of production, the total budget and eligible expenditure in the Canary Islands.<\/span> <\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #f6b221;\">What kind of production can benefit from the incentive?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Feature films<\/li>\n<li>Drama series, animation or documentaries series<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Provided that they are granted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grancanariafilm.com\/en\/certificado-de-obra-audiovisual-canaria\/\"><strong>Canary Islands Audiovisual Production Certificate<\/strong><\/a>, issued by the Culture Department of the Government of the Canary Islands, apart from the nationality and cultural certificates issued by the Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #f6b221;\"><em><strong>What kind of expenditure is eligible?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The deduction base is made up of the production costs, the expenses on making copies and expenses on publicity and promotion paid by the producer. Both are capped at 40% of the production cost. Grants obtained to finance investments qualifying for deduction are not deductible.<br \/>\nAt least 50 per cent of the deduction base must be of expenditure in Spain.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #f6b221;\">Who can benefit from the deduction?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Producers whose economic activity is based in the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #f6b221;\">How is the tax deduction obtained?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The tax deduction is a tax credit deducted from the corporate income tax.
